On the occasion of the release of Little Bit Of Soul, Little Odetta gave a memorable concert at La Maroquinerie (Paris). Flashback to this great rock 'n' roll moment.
An eventful return to Paris. It is love in the soul that Little Odetta enters the stage, after a quality opening provided by Ady One Woman Band. Recharged and determined to fight, the quintet is ready for an hour and a half of rock 'n' roll generosity. Indeed, the group now has two albums under its belt and offers a number of compositions and surprises to its audience.
Coming in large numbers, the fans are motivated like never before responding to Audrey Lurie's words, raising the temperature of Leather Goods while maintaining a joyful and good-natured atmosphere. Shouts, applause and expressions of enthusiasm rain down on the musicians, visibly in great shape.
Release party obliges, the album Little Bit of Soul is performed in its entirety. Of course, Little Odetta does not intend to play it in order and maintains the rock 'n' roll by intelligently integrating tracks from her first album into the set and giving it pride of place. Thus, the diptych “Shake” and “Struck” flows naturally, the catchy “Make Up Your Mind” works wonders and “Rhythm” is embellished with well-integrated drum solos and keyboards. As for new releases, the warm Little Bit of Soul still works wonders, while the groove of “Who's Got The Answer? » passes the stage test with honors.
On the interpretation side, the group's work pays off like never before. We particularly note the masterful interpretation of the classic “It's a Man's Man's Man's World”, both on vocals and on instruments, with a reworked version, while remaining faithful. Of course, the group's compositions are interpreted with care without forgetting rock 'n' roll, with musicians who know how to be involved without ever stealing the spotlight from their charismatic frontwoman. Close to the audience literally and figuratively, she does not hesitate to get off stage to sing in the heart of the crowd, thus maintaining its enthusiasm to the maximum.
Driven by the stage and passionate about music, Little Odetta gives with this Parisian date a powerful and memorable kick-off to a new chapter in her promising career. To be continued.
