Linkin Park: how has the group evolved since the arrival of Emily Armstrong?

Music news

Who says new singer says new habits. Mike Shinoda and Emily Armstrong spoke about the changes the group has had to make since its return to the forefront.

Linkin Park made their comeback a few months ago, surprising all their fans. The group has, in fact, gained two new members: singer Emily Armstrong and drummer Colin Brittain.

These recruits and more particularly Emily changed the habits of Californian artists, as one of the founders, Mike Shinoda, explains for the “Zach Sang Show”: “Having a woman in the group is new. There are little adjustments to be made. Sometimes we say: 'Oh, we can't all get dressed in the same room… And run around in just towels' “.

The group therefore had to find new habits. “I said to myself, 'We need to organize our dressing rooms differently and what is most comfortable for her, explains Mike Shinoda. And I wondered how to make it not alienate us either, because we want to be together, it's more fun. And at the same time we also need our private space.”

Emily Armstrong: “I'm very lucky”

In this same interview, Emily Armstrong says she is grateful to evolve in this legendary group and reveals that she continues to learn every day thanks to the other members. The singer also talks about this incredible opportunity: “It's everything I've ever dreamed of. I am very lucky to be in my place. It's crazy, but you know, I feel like I've been training for this position for a long time.”

Linkin Park has just released its brand new album “From Zero”. The group has also announced that it will tour the world in 2025. Mike Shinoda and his bandmates will even perform at the Stade de France on July 11.
