Liam Payne presents ‘Teardrops’, the introductory letter of his second album

Music news

Liam Payne is back. After overcoming his health problems and returning to the studio, the former One Direction member has presented Teardrops, the first single from what will be his second solo studio album.

The song, which “is born of many tears” and not all of them from the artist himself, has been composed by the performer himself along with Daniel Bryer, Jamie Scott – both are also in the production along with Martin Hannah -, Mike Needle and the former member of NSYNC, JC Chasez. “Congratulations! It was a pleasure creating music with you,” his partner from another boy band told him.

“I always think about images at the same level as I think about sounds when I’m making music,” he said. Hence both the cover and the lyric video that you have shared is accompanied by a kind of emoticons ranging from broken hearts to teary eyes, represented in a somewhat psychedelic way.

“Many tears were shed while recording all of these songs, and for the first time fans will have a full view of what my day-to-day life was like.” while making this album, because this album is literally a sample of what I experienced in the last year: each song is a capture of how I felt each of those days, so it could even help anyone who is going through a bad patch, or help them celebrate something… it’s something I wanted to achieve with this project and it’s the best part of my job, in my opinion,” explains the Brit about the album as a whole that is to come.

The singer has been getting in shape, physically and mentally, to face the new musical adventure he has just embarked on. A new image that has not gone unnoticed by his former teammate and friend Louis Tomlinson. “Dude, call me,” he commented in one of his last Instagram posts from the gym.
