LIAM GALLAGHER and JOHN SQUIRE the album comes out March 1st

Music news

Liam Gallagher and John Squire announce the release of their self-titled album on March 1st.

Liam says:

I can’t wait for people to hear the album. I think people who love the Stone Roses and Oasis and that kind of music will love it. It’s spiritual, it’s fundamental. LG x”

John adds:

It was really inspiring to have the Knebworth concerts as a point of reference when I started writing. Then it was a matter of trying to avoid everything being too rock and mixing the feelings. I like that in some parts it’s quite melancholic and can give you goosebumps, but there are other parts that are quite irreverent, rude or crude. There’s a bit of everything, I think it’s a great mix. I had a feeling we would play well together but I wasn’t prepared for it to be such a good match.”

THE TRACKS

Like the first song “Just Another Rainbow“, “Mars To Liverpool” delivers exactly what you expect from the duo. Featuring infectious rock ‘n’ roll with an undercurrent of ’60s psychedelia, John weaves inventive guitar work – shimmering riffs, fluid classic rock solos – to Liam’s unmistakable voice. As with the best of their famous bands and solo work, “Mars To Liverpool” elevates its melancholic air to a crowd-pulling anthem. So here are two killer singles waiting for the album’s release.

Long-time friends with a mutual admiration for each other’s work, the idea for a collaboration was born when John joined Liam on stage at his Knebworth concerts. The song ideas didn’t take long to arrive, and the album took shape with an intuitive intensity while working in Los Angeles with producer Greg Kurstin. He played bass throughout the album, while Joey Waronker (Beck, REM, Atoms For Peace) plays drums.
