Leo Rizzi and Paty Cantú: “Music is there to touch on uncomfortable topics and heal”

Music news

WECB Global Show chatted with the creators of Mauves in connection to 3 countries: Leo Rizzi from Spain, Paty Cantú from Mexico and Tony Aguilar from Spain. “Mauves “It’s a song with a lot of feeling, with a deep meaning and it comes from talking with Paty in the studio about what was worrying us at that moment,” said Leo about this song that is loaded with references to family and pain, but with a very positive message: don’t wait to say ‘I love you’.

The fusion of ‘Malvas’

Leo Rizzi: “Mauves It is a song with a lot of feeling and a deep message that comes from talking with Paty in the studio. We didn’t know each other, we got together in the studio and the song came up talking about what was worrying us at that moment. Between his references, references to our families…we all came together and that topic came up. When I left the studio I thought: it’s a fear, we have to get it out.”

Paty Cantu: “The last time I saw my nephew before he died was in Spain. He then had an accident and, unfortunately, died. I was left with many things to say. She was frustrated because I didn’t say I love you more times. With that thought she wanted to tell the people who are alive how I will remember them when they are gone. Music is to touch on uncomfortable topics and heal”.

The chemistry between Leo and Paty

Paty Cantú: “I was dying to compose with Leo. He is one of the artists in Spanish that I like the most. It’s a matter of chemistry and real taste. I tried to compose with him and it was nice to see that it was everything I thought and more.. We have a lot of things in common, those epic pop/rock sounds (…) Mauves “It’s one of the favorite songs I’ve released in my entire career.”

Leo Rizzi: “She came to the studio with her glasses and talking about Formula 1. I thought: where did this woman come from? She impressed me and I felt intimidated. And then talking, the chemistry arose.”

Your projects

Leo Rizzi: “The album already has a shape, it already has a cover… It’s a long-time job, a lot of people involved. Mauves belongs to this album. I’m going for it because it’s my proposal, it’s my project today. She is going to come out very soon.”
