LAZZA: I had so many things to say and in “Locura” it's me!

Interviews

“LOCURA” (READ THE REVIEW) is out today, the new, highly anticipated album by Lazza. An album that represents an important chapter in the artist’s discography, which aims to repeat the success of his previous record-breaking album, “SIRIO”.

The album was presented at Audemars Piguet’s new AP House Milano. Here’s what he told us about it.

THE STATEMENT

This is me, it doesn’t matter if I’m on stage, in the park with my dog or just minding my own business around the city that raised me and that I feel like I can’t know anymore for too long. They have been incredible years, I have always dreamed of all this, or rather, almost all of it. “Who do you think you are? Why don’t you take a picture?”, they tell me, without understanding that memories should be created with my music, with the words I have written, not with my face.

Look, it's thanks to us that you're here!” – maybe, but mainly I'd say it's thanks to me.

You're always so angry! If I were you, I'd be happy, you never smile! The problem is that there's a reason why I'm here and not you. Often these things make you look arrogant, rather than someone who says what he thinks, who spits the truth in your face, but then what is the truth? In these years I've decided that I won't keep anything inside anymore. To hell with those who tell you that this can't be said, that that other thing would be better left undone. I've never liked following the rules, I've always liked trying to do them.

Usually the people who tell you these things are also the ones who stop greeting you as soon as they've sucked up everything they can. I haven't set foot in an airport or a train station for who knows how long now. And I don't even miss it that much.

All this anger is an album: “LOCURA”.

THE DISC

I'm happy that the album is out and I can't wait to read the comments and reviews!

It's a complicated album, because I was coming off an album (Sirio) that, like it or not, did huge numbers!
The reason behind this album was to try to get out of that mechanism that only sees numbers. I wanted the album to remain not so much for the numbers, but rather for the meaning.

I had so many things I wanted to say, but I couldn't find the right form to express them.

The album was born from two years of intense work around the world, a creative and introspective journey between the studios of Miami, Los Angeles and Paris, where I also collaborated with globally renowned producers such as Foreign Teck.

COLLABORATIONS

For “Locura” I wanted to involve colleagues with whom I had never collaborated before.

Laura Pausini, who opens the album, is the first voice you hear on the record.

I have already collaborated with Sfera and Guè several times, but with them I always feel at home and I have fun.

Ghali is a long time friend, we did freestyle together and after 15 years of friendship it worked. I'm a fan of the piece.

Lil Baby is an artist who often appears in my Spotify preferences and his songs are always among the most listened to by me.

Artie and Kid are two young artists with special features: Kid has a fantastic pen, while Artie has a special attitude, an infectious smile and a talent for freestyle.

Finally, there's Marra: a true professional, precise and meticulous. It's always difficult to involve him, but on this album he rocked.

THE SCENE

The market is saturated, but there are still some gems and original ideas. I recently discovered low-red, I already contacted him and I love it!

LIVE

The album was presented at the gates of San Siro. The team is there, the coach is there, the public too…
Actually, nothing is missing, we'll see!

THE VIDEO

The video for ZERI IN PIÙ (LOCURA), out now and directed by Late Milk, is also dark. Transposition of the song's narrative into images, frame after frame the whole sense of isolation, loneliness and inner torment that the two record-breaking artists, at the center of the scene, sing about emerges.
