Music news

This is a collaboration with EV that stands out for its reflection on being real.

Nuria Zapatabetter known as The Zorra Zapata, will release his album Burn or Illuminate next October 25, 2024 via A Tutiplén Records. We were already able to hear about this material “Rain and Snow”, “The Invention” and now the “Job”, song co-produced in Monclova Studios with the support of Alonso Bentina frequent ally of The ZZ.

This composition not only surprises with its harmony, but also with its powerful reflection on the importance of being genuine in the creative process. “Job” has the collaboration of EVthe Colombian artist from bedroom pop, which adds a distinctive and authentic touch to the single. Both artists manage to capture the idea that making music must focus on authenticity, moving away from the standards and expectations that the world imposes.

Burn or Illuminate It will explore the hidden meaning behind the errors. “The concept of the album is intertwined with an operation. In 2019 I had a meniscus transplant in my right knee. They sent me to bed for three months. At that moment I thought it was the worst thing that had ever happened to me, and I felt super unlucky. That situation that apparently burned, ended up being one that illuminated because that was where The Zorra Zapata“, mentions Nuria in a press release.

Remember that The Zorra Zapata will participate in the recordings of Live on KEXP in The Desert House Studio of Mexico City as part of the celebrations of the 25th anniversary of the Live Latino. In addition, the recordings will include interviews from Cheryl Waters and Albina Cabrera and will be available on the channel YouTube of KEXP in November of this year.
