‘Kids’, first single from the album ‘Still Kids’ by New Kids on the Block

Music news

Nostalgia is one of the strongest emotions that can influence a person’s behavior. And every day we have an example of this both within music and outside. The comeback of New Kids on the Block after a long musical hiatus will crystallize again on May 17 with the publication of their new studio album: Still Kids.

An album that will cost 14 songs, including Kids, the song that will serve as the calling card of the new musical adventure by Jonathan Knight, Jordan Knight, Joey McIntyre, Donnie Wahlberg and Danny Wood. A collection of pop songs and love ballads in the purest NKOTB style.

“And we’re still just kids from a nobody town/ Still just kids that are messing around/ Making the most of the things that we found” the quintet is heard singing in the single that introduces the album. A song that has been co-written and co-produced by David Stewart and Luke Batt. For a couple of days now you can enjoy the video clip of the song created by director Marissa Velez on her official YouTube channel

“It’s the most mature album we’ve ever made. However, it’s the most fun and comfortable album we’ve ever worked on. This record more than any other, is coming full circle for the New Kids and the fans. It’s about hope, possibilities and being ourselves” explained New Kids on the Block in the press release for the announcement. “It says a lot about any band to make an album that has energy, passion, lightness, fun and depth, after almost 40 years together? It’s crazy,” said Joey McIntyre.

With Still Kids, the boyband finally ends a decade of musical silence since throughout this time they have been pecking, publishing and collaborating to continue enjoying and making people enjoy their music. The return does not occur alone, but for the occasion the group has had the collaboration of two great artists that its target audience will know: DJ Jazzy Jeff and Taylor Dayne.

Was one of the most popular groups in the United States. Just their latest album, ‘Step by step’ (1990) sold 20 million copies worldwide. His fans and ticket sales and his vast catalog of merchandising (pillows, dolls, marbles) were also counted in the millions. They even had their own cartoon series. Accusations of fraud gradually ostracized them until they resurfaced.
