KENDRICK LAMAR – surprise release of new album “GNX”

Music news

Kendrick Lamar has surprisingly released a new album “GNX”.

The album arrived shortly after he posted a teaser on his social media.

Also among the tracks Squabble Up, was premiered in the music video of Not Like Us, one of the diss tracks that animated the confrontation between Lamar and Drake last May.

Highlights of the album include Luther, which features SZA, Kendrick's former labelmate at Top Dawg Entertainment. Their collaboration brings back memories of the artistic partnership that marked some of the most appreciated productions of both.

Kendrick's last official album, “Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers”dates back to 2022. Since then, Lamar has not remained silent: in May 2024 he returned to the scene with a diss track aimed at J. Cole, contained in the track Like That from the collaborative project by Future and Metro Boomin. The comparison between the two subsequently also involved Drake, giving rise to a series of response songs, including Euphoria, Meet the Grahams and finally Not Like Us.

2025 promises to be equally intense for Kendrick Lamar, who will star in the 59th Super Bowl Halftime Showperforming solo for the first time. The last time he had graced that prestigious stage was in 2022, in a collective show together with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem and Mary J. Blige.
