Karol G adds a new achievement to her career: being Billboard’s woman of the year

Music news

Karol G does not stop adding achievements to her career. And is not for less! The Colombian star has become one of the biggest stars in music. In the last year he has reached the top of the charts thanks to the two albums (Tomorrow will be nice and Bichota Season), has also won the Latin Grammy for Best Album of the Year and has sold out three times at the Santiago Bernabéu. Almost nothing!

To all these achievements, Karol G has to add the fact of having won his first Anglo Grammy. And on Sunday it won the award for Best Urban Album. Quite a feat!

When we thought that Karol G couldn’t win any more awards, the diva surprised us by being named Woman of the Year for the famous American media Billboard. Another feat! And the singer has become the first artist who sings in Spanish to win this award.

The other winners

But Karol G will not be the only artist honored on the night of March 6 in Los Angeles. She’s not the only Latina either. And this 2024, Billboard has opted for a wide variety of musical genres when it comes to recognizing the women who are revolutionizing the industry. Thus, those honored at the Billboard Women in Music are the following.

The artists honored at the Billboard Women In Music 2024

  • Karol G – Woman of Yeat
  • Charli XCX – Powerhouse
  • Ice Ispice – Hitmaker
  • Kylie Minogue – Icon
  • Luisa Sonza – Global Force
  • Maren Morris – Visionary
  • Newjeans – Group of the year
  • Tems – Breakthrough
  • Victoria Monet – Rising Star
  • Young Miko – Impact Award

The award-winning Latinas

In addition to Karol G, there are two other Latinas among the names: Luisa Sonza and Young Miko. The Brazilian takes the Global Force mention for her incredible impact on music singing in Brazilian. The Puerto Rican, for her part, is named as an Impact Award, for the global impact that her songs have had in the last year. And she doesn’t miss us. Without going any further, she is in the global top playing with her session with Bizarrap.
