Kanye West will not be the new creative director of Maison Martin Margiela

After John Galliano left the creative direction of Maison Martin Margiela, we can certainly say that an era that contributed to making the history of contemporary fashion is officially over. As always happens when a creative director leaves his post, rumors begin to swirl about the names of possible replacements and these days one of those names is Kanye West.

There is no doubt that Ye likes Maison Martin Margiela, the Maison Martin Margiela mask worn by Kanye West in 2013, on the occasion of the “Yeezus” tour, remains iconic, then put up for sale a couple of years ago for 50 thousand dollars. Not only that, Ye has been a friend of Renzo Rosso for a long time, recently he has been seen several times with him and this has led to the rumor that he will take on the role of creative director of the brand.

To support this thesis there would be Ye's presence at an exclusive Margiela party, Galliano's subsequent departure and Renzo Rosso posting another photo with Kanye.

Yet they are just coincidences. Ye doesn't collaborate with anyone other than Ye. And while the rumors become more and more insistent, he denies it by publishing a post on his Instagram profile accompanied by a caption that leaves no room for misunderstanding: I don't collaborate.
