Everything has a beginning and an end, although in the case of Julio Pena and Clara Galle It is difficult to know which of the two stages is more intense. Both actors debuted on Netflix with the adaptation of the best-selling novel by Ariana Godoy, through my windowwhich was so well received on the platform that it ended up changing the literary saga—each novel was told from the perspective of one of the brothers of the first protagonist—and focusing it simply on its characters, Ares and Raquel.
The story of how some neighbors—he, a rich heartthrob boy; she, an innocent and humble girl—begin to get to know each other since one steals the other’s Wi-Fi password and has come up with two more installments, perhaps much more bizarre than what one can expect from teen movies. And it’s not because of the nudity, the social criticism and the little pills about sex positivity that it has; but because of some dramatic twists that have ended up making it a ticking time bomb for the fans’ feelings.
His latest film, which is titled through your eyes, explores how the two lovebirds’ relationship is not going through its best moment. A most tragic outcome in their group of friends has led them to be separated, and even with the couple broken, something that has made both performers have to be angry for the first time in three films. Has it been easy, after two deliveries loving each other? “It’s easy, everything flows, it doesn’t matter what Julio and I have to do,” Clara answers.
And both have gone through the studies of WECB to talk about his film, as he would say Francisco Umbral, leaving us with a whole series of surprises in our talk. Like, for example, that revelation of how crazy it was to shoot the two films simultaneously, something that was not known until the premiere of the second – its post-credits scene was the trailer for the third film – and that they handled surprisingly well thanks to to the team.
Three years, three movies
Things like growing with a character is something that only an exclusive club chaired by Ricardo Gomez and his Carlitos Alcántara, although they can have his license without a problem. Ares and Raquel was not just any role for them, but it was the beginning of a career that, so far, has not stopped giving them joy. Just because of their media exposure: there began to be two celebrities at the time when Netflix published the press release confirming them as protagonists.
The boom did not relax until its premiere, to which people came from even across the pond. “We were not aware of anything that was going to happen,” Clara reveals, although she also confesses that when filming the first part she did not worry about generating expectations. “I personally take more from the project, from having recorded it, than from that boom,” Julio responds.
Now the two look to their respective careers, which in it goes through the second season of the successful Berlin —and who knows whether to prepare for something beyond our borders—and in it for Not one more, a Netflix series that promises to generate a lot of social debate. Julio can barely say anything, because they have not started filming yet and it is planned to be released in 2025; but she is warming up for the launch of the series, which will be this year.
I have seen that there is a lot of commotion (with Enzo Vogrincic). My mother told me about him
Even maintaining that fame, what they can do is say goodbye to the title of phenomenon – they are already more than settled for a good season – and pass the baton to another Netflix boy who already has a first and last name: Enzo Vogrincic. “I have seen that there is a lot of commotion. My mother has told me about him,” Julio comments on the actor The Snow Society.
Toxicity and controversies
Although there is no good phenomenon without a good controversy. And in the case of this trilogy, several. Being a product consumed by young audiences, there were many who questioned the values that the protagonist couple showed on screen, described as toxic. Today, and with the evolution of the story arc, its protagonists are the first to be sure that this is not the case: “They are learning, in the end it is their first relationship and you are always going to do things wrong, you are going to have toxic behaviors. But I feel that when they make a mistake, they don’t make a bigger drama out of it. You see it, and “I think that’s the beautiful thing about watching the three films. You see an evolution… Which in the end is that you want them to be together,” Clara confesses. In fact, she adds that at first they themselves doubted whether both characters were good, but with the outcome there were more fans asking them to get married.
With respect to competition, they are not clear that My fault —the new Prime Video saga based on the novels of Mercedes Ron— be more toxic than Through My Window. Julio has not seen the first film, while Clara is sure that there is room for all the sagas: “I think it’s great to enjoy some, enjoy others…”.
Off the screen, on social networks, the controversies have moved to Clara’s photos on Instagram. For some time now, the fact that the actress’s nipples were visible in a photograph became a topic of debate, something that she concluded quite naturally. Seeing the nudes that she has in the trilogy, she answers us if she has experienced naturally getting naked in the cinema, something to which she happily responds: “What it can cause is not my problem, it is the problem of the person who sees it. I have nothing to say. I am not afraid to show my tits. This is going to be a headline, but I don’t care, because it is true, I think no woman has to be afraid”, concludes with laughter and unintentionally paraphrasing Rigoberta Bandini.
