Jay-Z has been accused of raping a 13-year-old girl

Jay-Z was accused of raping a 13-year-old girl with Diddy.

As NBC News reports, the incident occurred in 2000 at an MTV Video Awards after-party.

The federal lawsuit was originally filed in October in the Southern District of New York, listing only Sean Combs as a defendant. It was then resubmitted on Sunday by Texas attorney Tony Buzbee to also include Jay-Z among the defendants.

Jay-Z released a lengthy statement Sunday night to NBC News, in which he called the allegations absurd and said Buzbee had behaved unprofessionally.

“These allegations are so heinous in nature that I implore you to file criminal charges, not civil charges!! Anyone who commits a crime like this against a minor should be locked up, don't you agree?” Carter said in a statement to NBC News. “These alleged victims deserve real justice if that were the case.”

Before the lawsuit was refiled on Sunday, Carter received a letter from attorney Buzbee requesting mediation to resolve the matter, but the rapper sued the lawyer.

“You made a terrible error of judgment in thinking that all 'celebrities' are the same,” Carter added in his statement on Sunday. “I'm not from your world. I'm a young man who made it. We don't play these types of games. We have very strict codes and honor. Let's protect children.”
