Liam Payne's posthumous single, promised by his producer Sam Pounds, will not be released this Friday. A decision taken to respect the mourning of the loved ones of the former member of One Direction, who sadly passed away on October 16.
Two weeks after the tragic death of Liam Payne, his friend and producer Sam Pounds announced on October 28 the imminent release of “Do No Wrong”, a posthumous title on which the two artists collaborated. “I pray this will be a blessing to the world, like Liam always dreamed of“, wrote Sam Pounds on X about this title which was to be released on Friday November 1st.
But the next day, the American producer backtracked. “Today, I decided to keep the song and leave these freedoms to all members of the family. I want all profits to be donated to a charity of their choice (or however they wish)“, declared Sam Pounds on X. Before justifying his decision: “As much as we all love this song, it's not time yet. We are all still mourning Liam's passing and I want the family to grieve in peace and prayer. We will all wait.“The singer had a 7-year-old son, named Bear.
“It was the right decision to make”
This choice of restraint was welcomed by the community united around Liam Payne. “THANKScomments a user on X. I think it's the right decision to make… Personally, I wasn't ready for it yet… I still can't listen to his voice or his songs… So I can't imagine how his family would experience it…I'm sure the right time and the right way will come.”
For now, it is too early for “Do No Wrong” to see the light of day. Just like other songs that Liam Payne has recorded. The singer announced last year that he was working on a second album. Her first single “Teardrops” was released in March.
