ISLAND RECORDS the new capsule collection arrives

Music news

The new Island Records capsule collection is out, which can be purchased on the official Universal Music digital store.

In limited edition, the collection retraces the most important moments in the history of the label, from its birth in Jamaica in 1959 until the release of Bob Marley’s turning point album “Catch a Fire” in 1973. With this collection, in fact, Island Records wants to highlight the impact it has had – and continues to have – in the world of world music, shaping and revolutionizing its genres, thanks also to artists such as Bob Marley.

A label known for having always supported emerging musical movements, Island Records celebrates its capacity for continuous innovation and artistic integrity by entrusting the capsule to Carolina Crippa, a young designer who has been able to combine the world of streetwear with the history of Island Records. Made with Made in Italy materials according to an artisanal, eco-sustainable and genderless ethic, Carolina has been able to combine in a single capsule the attention to detail and the street-oriented vision at the basis of the creative nucleus that Island has always supported and is leaving the mark also in the Italian music industry.

THE BOSSES

There are four items of clothing (sweatshirt, double version t-shirt and socks) that make up the collection, characterized by the historic palm tree logo inserted in a modern and chill context at the same time, to create a point of contact between those Music lives for work, whether in the spotlight, under the stage or behind the scenes, and those who listen to it for passion.
