From Barcelona and with a new more introspective approach, Reyko presents Irrationalan album loaded with raw emotions, Beats hypnotics and a very anticipated visit.
With a sound that slides between electronic pop, dark nuances of Trip Hop and a minimalist attitude that loves from the first listening, Reyko It has become one of the most interesting projects of the international indie scene. Formed by the vocalist Soleil and the producer Igorthis Hispanic-British duo knows how to build a unique sound identity, which mixes English and Spanish lyrics with Beats hypnotics and a very careful visual aesthetic.
In an interview for Indie rocks!, Soleil and Igor They told us about Irrationalhis new album full of emotions, contrasts and a more experimental approach than his previous works. In addition, they shared how excited they are about to return to Mexico, where they will offer two presentations: on May 29 in the Indie Rocks forum! of the CDMX and, for the first time, on May 31 in the ARPA ROOM of Santiago de Querétaro.

For many years, London was the creative home of ReykoHowever, almost two years ago they decided to leave British fog behind and return to Barcelona. That change in environment became the spark to shape Irrationalhis most recent album.
The complicity between the two is noticeable from the first second, and it is not just the stage. Soleil He remembered how that creative connection arose. “Since we have started, eight years ago, we are still the same. It is all like that, very fluid. We do not distribute the jobs, we simply complement each other.” Its work dynamics are based on trust and let everything flow without labels or hierarchies.
About the change of city and how that hit its sound, Soleil It was direct. “We were living there for 16 years, but we have been in Barcelona for almost two years. We believe that we have been very good to refresh the experiences … and, above all, the environment in which you surround yourself. All changes are good.”
Unlike previous works, Irrational It feels more introspective, darker, Igor explained it with ClaridAD. “Our music is like a document of our lives. We try to soak up and absorb what happens to us and put it into music.”
And, although it seems paradoxical that the sun of Spain has brought an album more bleak, Soleil summarized it with humor and HoneStity “All the move and all the change is always very stressful. Maybe that has influenced us in some way.”
Favorite song of Irrational? The answer changes with the day, but Soleil chose “Dancing on My Own“the second of the album. “It is completely disconnecting from everything when you are here everything.” Igormeanwhile, stay with “All The Time” “It's my favorite of the album. I really like chorus.”
The album is crossed by emotions difficult to name, of those that do not rationalize easily. Igor mentioned. “We have focused a lot on the feelings of Soleil. Everything goes around that. It is very subjective and individual. ” Soleil He added that “it is like spending a day and a couple, basically … but not in a rational way, but the feelings that you cannot or control, the intrusive thoughts, all this.”
On his return to Mexico, the emotion is palpable. “We are really wanting the truth, of being in the forum, visiting Mexico again, we love it and, above all, to touch everything we are playing these days in Europe, which is being received very well; and the public of Mexico is incredible, we really want to share it.”
And if they could collaborate with a Mexican artist, Igor He did not hesitate to mention French Policethat, although they lie in Chicago, they have Mexican origin, and Soleil He nodded with enthusiasm. “Definitely French Police“, said Igor With a smile. “We love its vibrates and what they do musically,” he added Soleil

It is very colorful, it is very beautiful.” Igor He agreed that “colors are very characteristic in Mexico … are different than in Europe.”
As for the future, for now they concentrate on the tour, but they are already preparing new material. “Although it sounds a bit weird to say it, we will not take long to get new things. We have taken a long time to get this album and as we already want to get something new, but we have to give time to time.”
