Interview with Orion Sun

Interviews

A constellation that embraces us with its art.

Life is divided into small fragments: sometimes we are lucky, sometimes not so much, but it all depends on the perspective from which we look at it. From a new perspective Orion Sun writes his third album, Orionwhich we will be able to hear on September 20, and for that reason, in Indie Rocks! we talked to her.

I hope you can feel the warmth in my art, even if you don’t know me, I hope the sun embraces you in a positive way.”

Orion Sun returns with new music after a short break to take us on an introspective journey that we can easily relate to and become part of this journey. “I really wanted this project to have my name on it because I see it as a catalyst for the rest of my career – these are some of my thoughts, feelings and emotions that I have been working on for a long time. I try to feel and analyze, it is very reflective. I think it is a good letter of introduction to the world.”

Wanting to be remembered is a human desire that we all have and express it in different ways, in this case Orion He does it with music, between melodies and lyrics that seek to find lost souls that wander the world to bring them a little light.

Orion “It comes from the constellation, constellations in general have always been an incredible tool for dreaming, for directing… when you look up at the sky, the stars are so old, it’s like looking back. I want my art to embody that kind of timeless, boundless energy. Then I started to feel like I was a best friend, a partner, whatever, if I kept a relationship with a certain distance; if the sun comes closer to us we die, but there is a distance where we can still feel it.”

I chose Orion because it is perfection, it is the hunter and I feel like a hunter in my art, I always look for what is right.”

Write Orion It was a simple and at the same time complex process, as each action of the routine counted to reach the final result. “Sometimes you are up, other times you are down; some days you come in and just talk about life, that is also part of the process of writing a song, it is like doing nothing and then doing everything for a day. This was a different process for me because I started most of the songs, but I ended up collaborating with the most people I have ever collaborated with and I am grateful for this. They taught me not only about music, but also about balance to grow and improve. Just overcoming self-doubt and learning that you can do it.”

If this is your first time listening to Orion Sun or you think you knew her, pay attention to the song “Mary Jane”well this was her experience when recording it and it allows us to know a little more about her.

“It took me longer to finish because it was so different, it was one of those songs where it could have been any genre. It was so overwhelming and at the same time a beautiful lesson for me as this was the point of defining how I want to put my stamp on it even though we can do it well in so many directions. A lot of ideas are good and a big part of the process is saying, ‘I choose this one’ and sticking to it.”

In the album we can hear many songs: with some we will identify, in others we will notice the ability of Orion Sun to create ethereal atmospheres with which we can lose ourselves in a journey among the stars. While we enjoy, Orion Sun She took away a lot of learning. “I became more confident in the studio; I learned the language of collaboration, I got better at showing what I wanted to hear, showing my ideas, and I definitely grew as a person.”

To experience these feelings, don't forget to listen Orion and let time make this album part of your life.
