With “Saint Tenderness”, tooth returns with a record that celebrates fragility as strength, a journey between memories, absences and future dreams.
The umpteenth sound jewel that gives us an intim and enveloping story, where words and melodies intertwine in an atmosphere suspended between nostalgia and hope. Through essential arrangements and a writing that digs deeply, the album becomes a mirror of a feeling that changes but never dissolves.

The interview
With “Saint Tenderness” he returns with a new job that seems to want to explore the most intimate and nostalgic side of your writing. Where does this record come from?
It is an album written almost all in one breath, in a few days. An expressive urgency that I hadn't felt for years. These songs speak of absence, loss and research, of sleepless nights, present love and future dreams. I have always believed in the therapeutic power of the songs and today, with this album, I believe it even more.
The title evokes a sort of melancholy sweetness. What is its meaning for you?
“Holy tenderness” is an ode to fragility, to that sensitivity that is often seen as a weakness but which is instead a force. There is a sort of devotion for everything that is authentic, even if imperfect. The title comes from a phrase in a song that I wrote in 2018: “Holy tenderness that still loves me”. It's a way to say: “Don't abandon me, stay with me”. Then the manufacturer suggested to me to use it as a title, and I liked it
Musically speaking, there seems to be a return to more acoustic and minimal sounds. Was it a conscious choice?
Yes, I wanted to strip the songs from all over the superfluous. I worked a lot on the arrangements, trying to give space to words and melodies without overloading them.
What is the genesis of the song “The city sends us to bed”?
It is a song born with Emma Nolde, one evening in Milan, in Santeria. I don't remember the precise opportunity, but we were together and a certain point someone said: “Guys, here they send us to bed”. I usually close the clubs, I stay until they hunt me … but that time we took that idea and developed it. We exchanged audio, messages, and in the end this song was born. At the beginning it was not even thought for the disc, we did it to please. But then he found his place.
What is the structure of the album?
I don't have a rigid ladder, but fixed points. The first song must be a “door” to enter my world, and the last one has to close that world. Then there is the rule of song number 5: as a kid, with my girlfriend then, we always said “The fifth trace is the most beautiful!”. So on the disc I try to make the fifth the most beautiful.
How was the cover and the artwork born?
The image was born with the help of my graphic designer, using artificial intelligence. It starts from an old sentence of mine: “I see a profile in a cloud”. It is an idea that I had for years and has finally found a place. The woman on the cover is imaginary, an almost mystical icon.
