ASCO, the Italian DJ and producer who gave a turn to the electronic scene with the Symphony of Caos project, continues to conquer the international public with its merger between classical music and techno.
The first artist to direct a live orchestra during a DJ set, Alessandro Xiueref – aka ASCO – enchanted thousands of spectators with spectacular shows enriched with special effects, scenographic visuals and an impeccable synergy between sound and image.
After calculating legendary stages such as the Ultra Music Festival in Miami and the Balaton Sounds in Hungary, ASCO brought its vision to clubs and festivals around the world, from Asia to Europe. Symphony of Caos is not only a musical event, but a multisensory experience that evolves to each performance, also involving local choirs and musicians to create an unpublished combination between electronic innovation and symphonic tradition.
Discovered by Sander Van Doorn and Blasterjaxx, ASCO has collaborated with reference labels such as Spinnin 'Records, Hexagon and Revealed, consolidating its unique style that combines classical harmony and electronic beat. With a constantly growing fanbase and a position in the DJ Mag Top 100, his project is confirmed as one of the most innovative formats of the contemporary dance scene.

The interview
Your concerts are real immersive experiences. How much work is behind the preparation of such a show?
There is a lot of work behind! My team is composed of figures that treat the production of the event and, above all, by the orchestrators who put music into operation perfectly for the show.
Everything stems from an idea that my orchestrator, Andrea Filippucci, transforms into orchestral scores.
I deal with the electronic part, mixing and burn each song to create a coherent musical journey.
To this is added the Luci team, which creates everything in time code to synchronize special effects, animations and graphics.
When I arrive, in the end, it's as if I were just the tip of the iceberg of a huge project!
How important is the dialogue with your team for you?
Fundamental! Every now and then I arrive and I say: “I want to make this new song!”, And suddenly you have to reorganize everything: the orchestra goes crazy, the lighting department goes crazy, those who deal with the visuals despair … but in the end we always manage to find the solution right. For the 23rd we are very ready!
Can you tell us something about the Scaletta of the Sunday evening concert without doing too many spoilers?
It will be a musical journey that explores classical music in a modern key, combining the world of dance with the orchestra. I like to play with the transformations: take dance songs and give it a more sensitive orchestral soul, or upset classic themes and transform them into powerful drops.
For each show I try to bring some news and for Milan there will be at least six or seven unpublished songs.
In addition, there will be special guests such as Rizzo, with whom we will rework his songs in a completely new key.
What were the main difficulties in creating this project?
Many told me that it was an impossible idea to achieve. However, I was lucky enough to find people who believed in me and allowed me to materialize it. The orchestra and the lyrical choir, for example, welcomed my proposal enthusiastically instead of rejecting it.
If today this show makes Sold-Out and fascinates so many people, it is because my team believed in my vision and made it possible.
Will there be the possibility of seeing you in the summer festivals after this live?
Yes! Clubs such as the Fabrique in Milan are fascinating environments, but open spaces allow us to dare more, especially with special effects and wider scenography. I love scenic elements such as 12 meters high flames and fireworks in time of music! Immediately after the Fabrique we will announce a summer tour in incredible locations.
It is inevitable to talk about Sanremo: have you followed the festival? What do you think? Would you like to participate?
Yes, I was in Sanremo and it's always an incredible experience! I was lucky enough to listen to Olly's song in preview and cheered for him from the beginning.
His victory was deserved. I was struck by the fact that this year more space was given to the songwriter than the usual products designed for the ranking. As for my participation, it would be a dream! Joking, I told a friend that I would like to be the first producer to perform at Ariston. There have been projects such as the Eiffel 65 who have opened the way to new musical forms, so who knows … maybe one day I will be able to bring my sound on that stage!
The tour
Sunday 23 February, ASCO will bring all the energy and its unique sound on the Fabrique stage in Milan.
