Ihsahn – Ihsahn

Music news

Discover Ihsahn’s ambitious diptych, which reveals a nuanced and crafted album, with a collection of finely composed pieces.

Pioneer of the Norwegian black metal scene with Emperor, Ihsahn has been quietly leading his solo career for almost twenty years, oscillating between extreme pounding and progressive influences. In this latest vintage, the musician, whose taste for experimentation is matched only by his ambition, tries his hand at orchestral music, thus presenting different versions of his eleven original compositions.

Unfolding a mysterious and captivating story, this musical journey is strewn with pitfalls. Sometimes powerful, sometimes mystical, it is constantly jubilant and multiple. This new stage confirms the perpetual headlong flight ofIhsahn, who prefers to stare at the horizon rather than give in to the sirens of nostalgia. A bias that pays off, both for the creator and for the viewer.
