Warner Bros. Discovery announced the date following a recent meeting with Harry Potter creator JK Rowling.
The next TV series Harry Potter from Warner Bros. Discovery is expected to air starting in 2026, according to CEO David Zaslav. The expected timeline was revealed during a fourth-quarter earnings conference call hosted by the company Friday morning, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Discovery TV), and we hung out with JK and his teamMr. Zaslav said of a recent meeting with the creator of Harry Potter, JK Rowling. Both parties are excited to revive this franchise. Series Harry Potter entered its development phase in 2021, intending to cover the events of all seven books in the franchise. When the studio officially gave the green light last year, it revealed that the series would air over a ten-year period. “ We have never hidden our enthusiasm for Harry Potter, added Mr. Zaslav. The last film was made over a dozen years ago. »
The ten-year commitment, from 2026 to 2036, will be overseen by Rowling as executive producer. Last year, Daniel Radcliffe addressed the issue of the series during an interview with ComicBook, and definitively announced that he did not wish to be involved in the production: ” My understanding is that they’re trying to make a fresh start, and I’m sure whoever produces them will want to leave their own mark on it and probably won’t want to have to find a way to get the old Harry to appear somewhere. I’m absolutely not trying to do that in any way. But I obviously wish them all the luck in the world, and I’m very excited to pass the torch. But I don’t think it’s necessary for me to physically convey it. »
