Geoff Barrow says goodbye to BEAK> after 16 years

The co-founder will leave the band after upcoming tours in Europe and the United States.

Geoff Barrowfounding member of the experimental band BEAK>has announced his retirement from the group. Barrowalso known for his work with Portisheadannounced the news through a statement on social networks, where he explained that his decision is motivated by health problems and pending work commitments.

Unfortunately, due to a delicate ankle and other work I need to do before I get too old, it's time for me to move on,” Barrow said.

This statement does not mark the end of an era for BEAK>which was founded in 2008 by Barrownext to Billy Fuller and Matt Williams (later replaced by Will Young). The band mentions in a statement:

In terms of future activity BEAK> there is life in the old dog yet, but we need time to grieve our Geoff. “New music and activity will come when the time is right,” the band said.

The last tour of BEAK> with Geoff Barrow It will begin on October 30 in Cardiff, United Kingdom, extending until December 14 through several cities in Europe. Despite the departure of Barrowthe band promises to fulfill its commitments, including pending concerts in North America that will be announced in the coming months for 2025.
