This is the first single from their upcoming studio album, titled Cut Shadows. Scheduled for April 19, this fourth disc marks a new direction for Eugénie and Peter. Indeed, with post-punk, krautrock, dark pop and cold wave inspirations, the duo expresses their lo-fi desires here, with eight tracks in which even the guitars sound like synthesizers.
This record arrives four years later Disaster Serenades. Interviewed by the editorial staff, the duo explained: “ We wanted to do everything except worry about “cataloging” our sounds. The goal was not to say “That sounds like”, even if we cannot deny our influences and our desires. This album is both less garage and more produced than its two big brothers. We spent more time on it, unlike the previous one, which was recorded more quickly, the old-fashioned way on tape, which gave it that vintage feel. »
