But why was this building built?

It was the year 1717 when Philip V, the first Bourbon king to reign in Spain, became infatuated with that area of Segovia. Such was his infatuation with the place that he decided to build a palace there. Things of kings. But he didn’t want just anything, he wanted something that reminded him of the French court of his grandfather Louis XIV. Something that reminded him of his childhood. In this way, the beautiful gardens, which are so reminiscent of Versailles, were filled with fountains and sculptures. Felipe just wanted a place to retreat from the world. And he found it in this palace.

Today it is a national historical monument that you can visit without problem. A site of tourist and historical interest that has fallen in love with thousands of people, including, of course, René.

In fact, taking into account the letter and the reason why Philip V built the palace, both men were aware of the passage of time and nostalgia.

Other audiovisual works filmed at the San Ildefonso Farm

Residente’s new video clip is by no means the only audiovisual work that has been filmed in the Royal Palace of La Granja de San Ildefonso. Taking into account its characteristics, quite a few period series and films have been filmed there. The ministry of time, The Kingdom of heaven either The promise They have plans in this famous venue.
