Drake bought the Tupac ring at $ 1 million

A ring designed by Tupac Shakur has become the most precious hip-hop artifact ever sold at auction.

The ring in question was designed by Tupac himself, who personally chose the rubies and diamonds to be set in this golden ring that recalls the crowns of the medieval kings of Europe in 'an act of self-incorrectation' and which is also a tribute to the prince of Niccolò Macchiavelli, which Shakur has read in prison.

Shakur designed the ring in 1996, immediately after leaving prison, where he served eight months for accusations of sexual abuse and in prison he read the Prince of Machiavelli.

The ring is therefore the fruit of this chapter of his life, which unfortunately was also one of the last. Shakur was killed in September of that same year and wore him during his last public appearance.

The buyer, who initially remained anonymous, purchased the ring to a Sotheby's sale for just over $ 1 million, more than three times the pre-set estimate of $ 200,000-300,000.

To buy it was Drake, who showed the luxurious jewel in a story on Instagram, showing him to his 141 million followers.

Tupac Shakur has always had an eye for fashion and stylists have long been influenced by the rapper's style.

His style redefined the concept of 'cool' in the 90s, when everyone wanted to resemble him, but also some of the 21st century streetwear trends show that it is still a source of inspiration.

Drake, for his part, is not unrelated to make news with large purchases made at auction. A few months ago, it “purchased or received as a gift” objects for a value of 2.6 million dollars, once owned and worn by Pharrell Williams.

The rapper also made a sensation last year when he hit almost $ 100 million in bringing Luna Luna back to life, an avant-garde amusement park that also exhibits works by Salvador Dalí, Jean-Michel Basquiat, David Hockney and other famous figures in the art world. After opening in the 80s, the Luna Park ended up in a deposit for decades. Now, thanks to Drake's generosity, these pieces are restored.

However, there is a person who did not appreciate the fact that Drake has purchased the Tupac ring and is Kendrick Lamar, who called this unspecified gesture. Maybe because he would have liked it?
