New appointment this evening 6 October, at the Arcimboldi Theater in Milan with the tour of Diodato's theatres.
The tour that will take him to perform on the stages of the main Italian theaters for the first time began in recent days with the premiere at the Petruzzelli Theater in Bari
During the completely sold out show – the singer-songwriter also presented An Act of Revolution, the new single.
In the song Diodato questions himself on the meaning and incisiveness of his action as a thinking human being, peaceful yes but also dissident, and as an artist who over the years has always placed human emotion, empathy, dreams, utopia and the poetry of reality at the center of his musical production.
What is the point of a song, what is the point of telling an emotion? In these chaotic, indifferent times, populated by the torment of wars, by the uncertainties and challenges of the near future, investigating our emotions, fragilities and fears and trying to share them with someone is still a revolutionary act that helps to rediscover that sense of humanity that we seem to have lost.
Why are we here? The answer is simple and perhaps also for this reason so difficult to accept. We want to get excited, we want to continue to feel, we want to share, tell our stories, gather around the fire and recognize ourselves for what we really are.
It's what has always guided me, it's what helped me understand who I was, to understand others, to try to put myself in their shoes, to respect them.
It may seem banal but, even more so today, for me it is an act of revolution” says the singer-songwriter on emotion, the central theme of the song and of the theater tour itself.
THE LADDER
At the moment there is still no setlist for the Milanese show but he should perform these hits as well as the new single Un Atto Di Revolution.
Another summer
It would take a miracle
My mouth melts
You make me die
Drunk
Until we disappear
But what do you want?
My land
So special
Now there was only you
Cuccurrucucù Paloma
Much love
Now
Love come, love go
Make noise
You move
What a wonderful life
THE ARTISTIC DIRECTION
For the artistic direction of the project, the singer-songwriter chose to be supported by Filippo Ferraresi, director and artistic director of the Dragone theater company, which has signed international productions in China (Splendor; The House of Dancing Water), in the United States (Celine Dion : A New Day), and in the United Arab Emirates (Le Perle). Together they built a show capable of reflecting the singer-songwriter's need to create a visual support that could best convey the musical apparatus of the show.
THE SHOW
With his first tour in theaters, Diodato brings to the stage an intense, dreamlike and at the same time physical show, a lit fire around which to gather to exchange words, sensations and above all emotions. During the concerts, the energy that dominates the scene becomes first a story and then an increasingly meeting with an audience that is strongly stimulated and invited to become an integral and conscious part of a journey within oneself to rediscover the beauty of the little things that they flower inside us.
The show born from this partnership is a harmonious mix of music and theater with elements that are contaminated by osmosis. This mixture translates into the recognisability of different parts, expertly combined: from the typically theatrical wall of lights, to the lighthouses that usually inhabit concerts, through to everything that is hung. Traditionally the theater allows you to hang props and for this show the choice fell on plexiglass panels that overlook the stage and within which lights have been inserted that create intense blades of light.
During the course of the show these elements belonging to sister arts become contaminated, when mixed they alter, until they become a unicum capable of creating choreographies and emotional projections. The interaction of the songwriter and musicians with these elements gives life to a unique sonic and visual experience.
THE BAND
Accompanying Diodato on this new musical journey is the band composed of Rodrigo D'Erasmo (violin, electric harp, percussion), Gabriele Lazzarotti (bass), Alessandro Comisso (drums), Simona Norato (keyboards, percussion, electric guitar, backing vocals), Lorenzo Di Blasi (piano, toys and choirs) and Andrea Bianchi (electric and acoustic guitars and choirs), for an organic concert, all played in the flesh.
Between the performance of repertoire pieces and his greatest hits, Diodato brings to the stage a show that is an ascending climax in which the artist vibrates with his audience, until he becomes a single body. Each song has its own well-defined identity and represents a step within a sensorial and emotional journey. While everything is burning outside, it is even more important to remember to live in close contact with our emotions rather than taking refuge in the inhumanity of indifference.
