Dillinger Escape Plan will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the album “ Calculating Infinity » with singer Dimitri Minakakis.
In 2024, Dillinger Escape Plan will return to the stage for the first time since 2017 for a special reunion concert celebrating the 25th anniversary of their debut album, Calculating Infinity, released in 1999.
The concert will take place on June 21, 2024 in Brooklyn at the Brooklyn Paramount theater. Dillinger Escape Plan will play Calculating Infinity in its entirety for the first time, with original vocalist Dimitri Minakakis joining founding guitarist Ben Weinman, bassist Liam Wilson and drummer Billy Rymer. Tickets go on sale December 15.
In a statement, Minakakis said being able to play again with Dillinger Escape Plan and celebrate 25 years of Calculating Infinity was ” a dream come true “. He pursues : ” I can’t wait to see all the old faces again, as well as the new ones. The Dillinger Escape Plan has always been more than just a band. We were a force of nature. This reunion concert is our way of thanking the fans who supported us and the album we made in a small basement in New Jersey so many years ago. »
Weinman, meanwhile, discussed the decision to not just reunite Dillinger Escape Plan, but to bring back Minakakis, who left the band in 2001. Weinman said the band was still happy with its 2017 farewell tour with longtime singer Greg Puciato (who replaced Minakakis), but that something remained ” pending regarding the Dimitri era of the group » : « With so many people talking about the album and after performing a few performances of the debut album with Suicidal Tendencies, everything came together. This had to happen! »
