Depeche Mode will offer four concerts in Spain in 2024, but who will be their opening act?

There is less left for Depeche Mode act again in our country. It will be in March 2024 when the British band offers some shows in Madrid, Barcelona and Bilbao and he will do it within a new European leg of the tour Memento Mori.

Now, the group has just announced who will be their opening act: Suzie Stapleton will be in charge of opening the Depeche Mode concerts in Spain next March. She is an alternative rock artist born in Australia and based in the United Kingdom and who is known for her electrifying staging and poetic noir sound environmentfull of guitars, which intersects with gothic-blues and alt-folk.

Stapleton has recently appeared in The Jeffrey Lee Pierce Sessions Projectproducing and playing alongside Dave Gahanvocalist of Depeche Mode, on the song Mother of Earth. Furthermore, he has performed a brilliant version of Secret Fires together with the British composer Duke Garwood.

Stapleton’s debut album was released in 2020 under the title We Are The Plague; a work that entered several Albums of the Year lists, including Louder Than War’s Top 20 which described it as “a dazzling debut guitar rock album. “Mix the spirit of Patti Smith and PJ Harvey with the soul of Nick Cave and Mark Lanegan”.

Dates Spain 2024

Depeche Mode will perform on March 12 and 14 at the Wizink Center in Madridhe March 16 at the Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona and the March 21 at the BEC in Bilbao; some appointments that involve his return to Spain after his performances in the Primavera Sound from Barcelona and Madrid this year.

These concerts are part of a second winter round of their current tour Memento Mori with almost thirty dates that will start in the O2 Arena in London on January 22after in their most recent commitments between North America and Europe they have managed to sell more than 2 million tickets.

On their agenda, in addition to Spain and the United Kingdom, commitments such as those of the Ziggo Dome in amsterdam on February 8, the double date in Berlin on February 13 and 15 at the Mercedes-Benz Arena or the double commitment at the Accor Arena in Paris on March 3 and 5.
