Music news

The end of OT 2023 approaches. The Academy of Triumph operation will turn off the lights next February 19 after crowning a new champion. Meanwhile, the life of the contest continues its course and each gala leaves us with a new candidate who will not be able to aspire to the final prize. The last one has been Chris. The Canarian artist did not convince the public with his version of the classic And who is he?, became the eliminated contestant from Gala 8 and now he has to start a new path within the turbulent music industry. However, before that happens, we spoke with him about his experience in the contest, his state of mind, and the plans he has with his artistic project.

“I have felt very supported by both my teammates and the technical team,” Cris clarifies, settling some evaluations seen on social networks that claimed that there was unfavorable treatment towards him compared to the rest of his teammates. “At first I felt more comfortable with the distribution of themes. Yes, it is true that we are testing ourselves and they are not going to always give us what we want, but, in general, I am very happy with the distribution of songs that I have had throughout the program. No problem”. And he adds: “We are in Triumph operation to challenge us. The contest that Ruslana is doing, for example, is incredible, but the rest of the contestants are also challenging themselves every week to see what we can do within the industry.”

Regarding coexistence, the fact of going from one night to the next to live with such a large group, Cris admits that it was difficult to manage when he entered the Academy. “Starting to live with fifteen people is something hard, something that not everyone can cope with.“, Explain. “Coexistence is very complicated, it goes from nothing to everything. But I wouldn’t change the experience I’ve had. It is something unforgettable.”

Cris also talks about being aware or not of the support received outside of the contest. “Any stimulus from outside reaches you. At first there were people who were better known. I come from Tenerife and I didn’t know many people outside my circle. But I have seen support outside, I have felt loved and it has been shown in the program,” says the former contestant of OT 2023which clarifies his words: “Within the Academy there are colleagues who have been in other television formats, who have made music outside and have moved around the world of music a little more than me. They have been recognized more than other people”.

My aspiration is to be able to transmit my energy to the world, so that the world understands me a little more through my music.

Now he lives in the present and is focused on preparing his debut in the music industry. Cris’s first official single is just around the corner and, although he does not give many details, he is clear about what he wants to do with his artistic project. “My single is coming soon. I’ve been working with the producers and A&R. I can’t say anything in advance, but you’re going to like it,” he says. “My aspiration is to be able to transmit my energy to the world, so that the world understands me a little more through my music.”.
