Courtney Love joined Billie Joe Armstrong to perform songs by Tom Petty and Cheap Trick in London.
Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong invited Courtney Love to join his cover band, the Coverups, on Tuesday night in London, where they performed songs by Tom Petty and Cheap Trick at the Garage, a 600-seat venue.
The band performed a number of covers, including ” A Million Miles Away » of the Plimsouls and “ I Wanna be Sedated » by the Ramones, as well as songs by the Pretenders, Bryan Adams and the Clash, as reported Billboard. But the big surprise of the evening came in the middle of the concert, when Courtney Love took the stage.

The singer introduced herself as follows: “ My name is Courtney Love. You may not remember me. I’ve been living in a cave in Birmingham for about nine years. We’ll try, okay? »
She performed “ He’s a Whore » from Cheap Trick, « Even the Losers » by Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, as well as the classic « Surrender » by Cheap Trick, according to NME.
Armstrong and his band also performed “ Ziggy Stardust » by David Bowie, « Drain You » from Nirvana and “ Last Nite » from the Strokes, as well as “ Love Is for Losers » from Armstrong’s side project, Longshot.
The Coverups return for a second date in London at the 100 Club on Friday. Last month, Green Day released their 14th album, Saviors. Last October, as reported by Stereogum, Courtney Love released tracks from the follow-up to her debut solo album, America’s Sweetheart, released in 2004 (his last album with Hole was Nobody’s Daughter, released in 2010). At the time, she said the album would be released around Christmas, but it still hasn’t been released.
