Concert review: ANNALISA – She was beautiful (Info and Setlist)

Music news

Welcome to the vortex, welcome to Annalisa’s vortex. The queen of Italian pop this evening in Milan staged her first big show at the Mediolanum Forum in Milan.

Annalisa did things big and appeared literally descending from the sky and gliding onto the Forum stage.

Over two hours of special effects, fireworks, ballet, lasers and videos during which he retraced his sound history.

You must always remember where you started from, he told his audience.

The different faces of Annalisa are on stage: the determined woman with the desire to dance, the melancholic and fragile woman, the Annalisa of catchphrases and summer hits and the introspective Annalisa at the piano who tells of her loves, her sufferings and her torments.

Sharing the stage with her is her usual all-electronic band, made up of Daniel Bestonzo (keyboards & synthesizers) who also took care of the musical direction, Gianni Pastorino (keyboards & synthesizers) and Dario Panza (Drums & electronic pads) to reiterate its electropop sound tendency and construction and naturally its dance troupe made up of over 12 dancers directed by Simone Baroni who, through intense and enveloping choreography, were able to mix with Annalisa’s sounds and determined its intensity and power, all on a majestic stage that embraces the audience with a long central catwalk.

Annalisa from a vocal point of view is perfect. It’s like listening to the record.
No flaws, no flaws even when dancing. A perfectionist to the core and a lonely girl.
A very specific choice, that of not having external hosts and contributions. Alone to take all the credit and tributes. Annalisa demonstrated her artistic maturity even in the live version.

Finally also two gifts: a version of Walking On The Moon by the Police mixed with his Wind on the moon and an intense one Purple Rain by Prince that accompanies the final tribute.

You were beautiful Annalisa!

THE LADDER

THE ARTISTIC DIRECTION

The artistic direction of the show is entrusted to Jacopo Ricci, creative director, lighting and show designer, born in 1994, who has worked with artists such as Skrillex, The Weeknd, Travis Scott, Janet Jackson, Martin Garrix, Achile Lauro, Fedez as well as for musical events international, which has created an environment capable of reflecting a concept of the whirlwind of human existence, combined with the evolutionary principle of an artist who, going through obstacles and difficulties, is born, evolves and matures, on the basis of an artistic spirit that is defined in time.

What is proposed musically and visually is a complete emotional journey that accompanies the viewer from beginning to end in the evolutionary phases of Annalisa’s life and career.

The vortex first shows itself in its primordial and conceptual forms, and then reveals itself in the creation of an avatar of the artist who finally identifies with the evolution and final identity achieved by the artist herself. Based on this aesthetic vision she has chosen to use the most advanced visual techniques available such as the use of real time generative technologies and artificial intelligence

THE CLOTHES

The clothes that Annalisa, the musicians and the dancers wear are unique pieces designed specifically for this live show by the Dolce & Gabbana style office.

THE CONCEPT

ANNALISA | Everyone in the Vortice Concept Note by Jacopo Ricci

The artistic spirit that guided the creation of the show is based on some conceptual and aesthetic principles deduced from the artistic profile that Annalisa expresses. The original idea was to create an environment that had the ability to reflect a concept of the swirling nature of human existence, combined with the evolutionary principle of an artist who, going through obstacles and difficulties, is born, evolves and matures, on the basis of an artistic spirit that is defined over time.

From this comes an extremely dynamic space that is based on a visual journey that accompanies the musical one in its various moments, sometimes joyful or energetic, other times disappointed or melancholy. This principle gives life to three distinct phases of the “journey” within the vortex, expressed in an environment defined by a huge virtual window that allows the viewer to enter this same emotional vortex. The contents reflect the various feelings through an otherworldly graphic conception, which keeps the story in a liminal space between reality and dream.

The panoramic screen, representing an opening to the world aimed at understanding life and existence, is therefore sometimes very solid and well defined, other times ethereal and evanescent. The vortex first shows itself in its primordial and conceptual forms, and then reveals itself in the creation of an avatar of the artist who finally identifies with the evolution and final identity achieved by the artist herself. Based on this aesthetic vision, we chose to use the most advanced visual techniques available such as the use of real-time generative technologies and artificial intelligence. In this way, on the one hand the proposed show wants to show itself in its contents as a precise reference to the artist’s career and his various very heterogeneous emotional moments, on the other hand it wants to express a stylistically homogeneous and well-defined aesthetic, aimed at futurism and to virtuality, with a certain dose of minimalism, identifiable in Annalisa’s current identity, accomplished, mature, evolved. A journey into a Vortex of past experiences and emotions, in order to rediscover yourself in a future vision.

THE CHOREGORAPHIES – edited by Simone Baroni

The choreographies for Annalisa’s new tour are an experience that varies in meaning, but always deeply connected to the title “everyone in the vortex”.

The steps imagine a world in which the movement itself is governed by an invisible vortex, in which the air is shaped by the bodies of the dancers and whose fulcrum is fueled by Annalisa’s sounds which determine its intensity and power.

Through the Vortex, the dancers travel to a multiplicity of worlds, each revealing profoundly different states of mind, which allows the choreography to embrace a great variety of styles and forms, making it at times unpredictable and extremely engaging.

Initially, the dancers may seem to march almost soullessly, but as time passes, they explore their deepest feelings piece by piece. This path will lead them to a liberating dance, full of energy and movements that may seem almost primordial.

Like everything, this journey also has an end. The choreographies end with a feeling, albeit abstract, of switching off. It is as if the dancers accompanied the audience to slowly emerge from a dream, a beautiful dream
