COLDPLAY “A Film For The Future” – The new visual project linked to Moon Music

Music news

Coldplay continue to explore new creative horizons with the launch of “A Film For The Future”, a multimedia project that combines music, visual art and technology.

The 44-minute film, linked to the album Moon Music, will have its world premiere on YouTube on January 22, accompanied by immersive and innovative experiences.

A GLOBAL WORK

A Film For The Future is the result of the collaboration of over 150 visual artists from 45 countries. Without constraints or guidelines, each participant interpreted musical fragments of Moon Music, resulting in a unique visual mosaic.

Executive producer Ben Mor, who also directed Coldplay and Beyoncé in 2016's Hymn For The Weekend video, says the result is

a kaleidoscopic patchwork quilt – a 44-minute multimedia tapestry.”

Ben Mor continued:

It was a huge privilege to have the visual on such an ambitious project, working with so many incredible animators and directors all working independently of each other. The final film is simply stunning and I can't wait for Coldplay fans to see it.”

Coldplay said:

We are so grateful to all the incredible artists who lent their genius to this film. They created something very beautiful and we are extremely proud of it.”

360 DEGREE PROJECTION AND IMMERSIVE TECHNOLOGY

The film's launch will be accompanied by exclusive screenings at Lightroom in London, Manchester and Seoul. Spectators will be able to immerse themselves in a unique multi-sensory experience, thanks to an advanced audio system and images projected on 11 meter high walls.

In parallel, the dedicated site afftf.coldplay.com will offer an interactive experience based on Microsoft's artificial intelligence. Thanks to Copilot and Azure AI, fans will be able to remix the film in their own way, resulting in unique interpretations of the project.

MUSIC AND SUSTAINABILITY

The film fits into a period of great turmoil for Coldplay. The band recently revived the Music Of The Spheres world tourwhich has already sold over 12 million tickets, earning it the title of tour with the highest number of spectators ever.

At the same time, Coldplay continues their commitment to sustainability. The current tour has reduced CO2 emissions by 59% compared to the previous one, exceeding the objectives set, and has led to the planting of over 9 million trees worldwide.

With A Film For The Future, Coldplay once again confirm their ability to combine innovation, art and global commitment, offering fans a new way to experience their music.
