Codacons lashes out against the rappers competing at the Sanremo Festival
Last week the Codacons had warned Rai and Carlo Conti from “bringing to Sanremo artists whose songs have in the past been characterized by violence, insults towards women and sexist content” and had explicitly mentioned the name of Tony Effe.
Today, immediately after the announcement of the 30 big names in the race, the association issued a press release in which it announced that it is evaluating the legal actions to take:
“Rai and Carlo Conti have decided to reward violent rappers and trappers with dangerous lyrics by including them in the cast of the next Sanremo festival. A very serious decision that nullifies years and years of battles and awareness-raising activities against gender violence, homophobia, bullying, and which offends millions of Italian women.
We are evaluating the possible legal initiatives to take to block the participation of the rappers chosen by Carlo Conti for the next Sanremo festival.”
