Cigarettes After Sex: new gentle title

Music news

Discover “Tejano Blue”, the brand new single from Cigarettes After Sex, taken from their upcoming studio album due this summer.

After unveiling a few singles in 2023, entitled “Pistol” and “Motion Picture Soundtrack”, Cigarettes After Sex unveils his brand new song, titled “Tejano Blue”. Check it out via the player below:

This is the first extract from X, the next studio album from Greg Gonzalez’s project. Its release date is announced as July 12. “This record is brutal”declares the musician. “I could sit down and talk to someone about this loss, but that wouldn’t even scratch the surface. I really have to write about it, sing about it, have the music, and then I can start analyzing it and learning from it. Or just relive it – in a positive way. I don’t have this desire to forget ‘Eternal Sunshine’ style.”

This record arrives five years later Cry, the group’s latest album. It included the singles “Falling In Love” and “Heavenly”. Interviewed by WECB upon its release, Greg Gonzalez described this record as follows: “ From the beginning, I feel this album like a film. Like the principle of a feature film, but without the image, just the music. A personal snapshot of a place, which we invest in for a given time, with our belongings scattered everywhere. We let ourselves be tamed by the sometimes angry, sometimes mild weather. It’s soothing to think that we’re making music in such a beautiful place, far from the hustle and bustle of the world. »

After filling the Zénith in Paris in November 2023, Cigarettes After Sex announces that it is coming back in force this year. Indeed, during their next world tour, Greg Gonzalez and his group will make two stops in France: on November 16 at the Accor Arena (Paris) and on the 17th at the Halle Tony Garnier (Lyon). Places will be available from March 8 via the organizer’s website.
