Discover the official Top Rock & Metal album sales in France SNEP/SCPP/OCC for week 51 (from December 13 to 19, 2024).

The four albums at the top of this top rock and metal chart continue. It is about Babel Babel ofIndochina, From Zero of LinkinPark, Songs of a Lost World of The Cureand the final album of Shaka Ponk.

The end-of-year live albums are making their debut. Helloween stands out with the Live At Budokan in 22nd position, in which the seven German musicians whirl you with their supersonic tempos and iconic riffs. Let's not forget either in 24th place the new live of The Curerecorded in London, in which Robert Smith and his band perform their new album in full. Blue Oyster Cult also enters at number 31, with a live performance recorded on the occasion of their 50th anniversary, in which he performs the album Secret Treats in full.

David Gilmour And DC Fountains return to the top 10, in ninth and tenth place respectively, while Ghost and live sound Rite Here Rite Now made a resounding comeback, going from 32nd to 11th place.

The French public's appetite for these musical aesthetics is not only found in the sales rankings, as noted by the general director of the SNEP, noting that “Hellfest is the biggest festival in France. » The latter has also stood out in recent days with its new announcement for 2025.

THE METHODOLOGY OF THIS OFFICIAL RANKING

Are eligible for Top Rock & Metal the albums of novelties (marketed for less than three years) rock directories and metal, informed as such by the distributor. This ranking holds sales account of supports as well that farms digital audio and video, according to defined parameters by profession and transcribed in thethe rules of the top developed by the SNEP. The stated aim is to “show the richness and diversity of musical successes that adopted these aesthetics,” explains Alexandre Lasch, general director of SNEP, to the editorial staff. A new classification which fits into a perspective already put in place by the organization: “We had already set up classifications with classical and jazz. We therefore wanted to show more of the successes of rock and metal in France. »
