CHAPPELL ROAN “Good Luck, Babe!” is the single

Music news

The pop icon and queer heroine with more than 40 million monthly listeners on Spotify, arrives on the radio with Good luck, Babe.

An electrifying track transcends the ordinary with its mix of nostalgic ’80s synth-pop and ballad-like vocals, taken from her debut album “The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess,” released last year.

With raw vulnerability, Chappell uncovers his emotions, creating a powerful anthem that explores leaving a romantic relationship and discovering true love and self-acceptance. Chappell comments on the song:

I needed to write a song about a common situation in queer relationships—where someone is struggling to accept themselves. It’s a song that wishes the best to someone who is avoiding their true feelings.”

Chappell Roan, who currently has 5 songs on Spotify Global, including 4 in the US Top 20, is a musical powerhouse with an unstoppable trajectory. Hailed by Billboard as “a powerful voice with an incisive stage presence,” Chappell Roan recently wrapped up an incredible tour, wowing audiences across North America, supporting pop superstar Olivia Rodrigo on her GUTS World Tour. Before embarking on her own sold-out solo tour, Roan has appeared on some of the summer’s most electrifying lineups, including iconic festivals like Coachella and Chicago’s Lollapalooza, where she enjoyed huge success in early August, breaking the festival’s all-time attendance record.

In recent years, Chappell Roan has catapulted to stardom, releasing her highly anticipated debut album “The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess” to critical acclaim, recognition, and being named on Best Albums of 2023 lists by Variety, Rolling Stone, Billboard, The Atlantic, Time, VOGUE, and more. TeenVogue called her a “pop star for the ages.” Roan’s shows have been universally praised for her compelling performances, creating “a safe space for self-expression,” and delivering an unforgettable show filled with “vaudevillian extravagance and pop queen confidence.” One year after its release, the album is currently at #1 on the Official Album Chart in the UK, Ireland, and New Zealand, while also peaking at #2 on the US Billboard Album Chart. She is also nominated for the upcoming Video Music Awards (VMAS) in the categories of “Best New Artist” and “MTV Push Performance of the Year.” During the awards show, on September 11, 2024 in New York City, Chappell will perform on stage at the event.

With bold hooks, powerful vocals, and a theatrical edge, Chappell Roan has continued to build a cult-like fan base in recent years with tracks like the sweeping “Red Wine Supernova,” her poignant self-penned ballad “Kaleidoscope,” and 2022 fan favorite “Casual.” Her synth-pop breakthrough, 2020’s “Pink Pony Club,” set the tone for Chappell’s evolution into her own version of a pop star: a small-town, glittery cowgirl who delivers euphoric, heartfelt bangers, and becomes a queer icon. Chappell Roan champions an open and honest expression of identity and sexuality without compromise.

This year, Chappell was named one of Spotify, VEVO DSCVR, and Ones To Watch’s Artists to Watch for 2024, and also earned the title of Amazon Music’s Breakthrough Artist of 2023.
