Recorded in multiple parts of the world over the last year, “CAN'T RUSH GREATNESS” boasts collaborations with numerous beatmakers, including his long-time collaborator Dave, and marks a fundamental step in the British rapper's career.
The album comes after his two previous mixtapes, “Wild West” and “23” and the songs “Doja”, “Band 4 Band” and “Obsessed With You”, which dominated the charts and streaming platforms around the world.
To celebrate the album announcement, Central Cee made his debut on COLORS with the freestyle “One by One”
Even though the song will not be included in the album, it fully reflects its spirit. Performed over a Cash Cobain beat and in front of a rose gold background – a recurring feature in the rapper's last year's works – in “One By One” Central Cee's care in the choice of words and introspective journey in telling his own story, reflecting on the themes of growth, freedom and the path that took him from the streets of England to global fame.
Phrases like “Can't rush greatness, you gotta take your time, maintain it slowly” And “They see the time piece, they don't see the time it takes us” perfectly capture Central Cee's attitude to life which is also captured in the album.
Initially recorded in 2021, “One By One” shows how consistent Central Cee has been throughout his career, with “Can't Rush Greatness” which is based on the same ethics. This album is intended to show his evolution as an artist, capable of uniting the realism and the rawness of the lyrics to bold and original productionsand breaking down any barriers of British rap.
