CAT POWER Sings Dylan live in Italy for three concerts (Info and Tickets)

Music news

Cat Power brings her new live album to Italy: “Cat Power Sings Dylan: The 1966 Royal Albert Hall Concert”. There will be three concerts he will hold this summer.

Last November, Cat Power took to the stage at the Royal Albert Hall in London, giving audiences a masterful re-enactment of one of the most legendary live concerts of all time. Held at the Manchester Free Trade Hall in May 1966 – but commonly referred to as the “Royal Albert Hall Concert” due to a mislabeled bootleg – the original show saw Bob Dylan make his iconic switch from acoustic to electric mid-performance, sparking ire of folk purists and forever changing the trajectory of rock and roll.

In his personal reinterpretation of that epochal concert, Chan Marshall infused every single song with grace and a tangible sense of protective reverence, transposing the anarchic tension of Dylan’s set with a warm and luminous joy.

Now immortalized on the live album “Cat Power Sings Dylan: The 1966 Royal Albert Hall Concert,” Marshall’s mesmerizing performance not only pays homage to his hero’s imprint on history, but also brings a stunning new vitality to many of the his most revered songs.
