Carole King’s first concert interrupted by bomb threat

Music news

In this exclusive extract from the documentary “ Immediate Family », Carole King and the group remember an astonishing episode…

For filmmaker Denny Tedesco, the making of the 2015 film The Wrecking Crew, about a renowned group of Los Angeles studio musicians who have accompanied everyone from the Mamas & the Papas to the Beach Boys, was personal. After all, he’s the son of Tommy Tedesco, guitarist for the Wrecking Crew and one of the most prolific musicians in history, and he wanted to give back to his father what was rightfully his. Today, Tedesco highlights a new group of underrated session musicians, Immediate Family, who have supported artists such as Steve Nicks, the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, James Taylor, Joni Mitchell, Carole King and Linda Ronstadt . Comprised of guitarists Danny Kortchmar and Waddy Wachtel, drummer Russ Kunkel, and bassist Leland Sklar, the band tours and releases music under the name Immediate Family, a rock supergroup of sorts.
