Bruno Mars: a hitmaker above the rest

Music news

Present in music since 2009, and with only a few albums to his credit, Bruno Mars has nevertheless reached the highest spheres of this industry. One piece of data in particular allows us to measure the influence of the author of “24K Magic”.

Peter Gene Hernandez, better known as Bruno Mars, was born on October 8, 1985 in Hawaii. Coming from a family of musicians, the budding artist quickly developed a passion for the discipline and learned to play many instruments, such as the piano, guitar and drums. Rejected from the show “American Idol” at 18, he managed to sign a contract with the Motown Records label.

Although incompatible with the record company's demands, the musician makes crucial encounters and begins his ascent. Since then, a lot of time has passed and the singer now sits on a mountain of hits and distinctions. His latest song “Die With a Smile”, in collaboration with Lady Gaga, is currently third in the singles chart in the United States.

This title is thus the 19th Bruno Mars song to reach the prestigious top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100. A figure all the more impressive given that the singer has no more than four studio albums to his credit, spread over a short period of 11 years. A true hitmaker, everything that comes out of the Bruno Mars factories is predestined to obtain certification. By way of comparison, the king of pop, Michael Jackson, has placed 30 of his songs in the American Top 10 in nearly 40 years of career and 10 studio albums.

A success that sticks to his skin despite his difficult beginnings and which has therefore taken him to the top of the music industry. His RnB and soul style, which is not afraid to soften with a touch of pop, has made Bruno Mars one of the essential references on the world stage. To complete the picture, let us also remember that he is the only artist, with Beyoncé, to have performed twice during the famous Super Bowl halftime show. This is to say that his fans are impatiently waiting for a new opus from the singer.
