One year after the release of her memoir, the singer will see her life transcribed on the big screen. The biopic will be directed by Jon M. Chu and produced by Marc Platt. Two names who worked on the musical “Wicked”, with Ariana Grande.

It's official! The ups and downs of superstar Britney Spears is getting a movie adaptation. According to Variety, Universal Pictures has bought the rights to the singer's book, “Woman in Me.” The memoir, released in 2023, quickly became an international bestseller. The American artist recounts her path to fame from her early days in the “Mickey Mouse” club to her forced guardianship by her family in recent years. The book also revisits her relationship with ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake, who allegedly forced her to have an abortion.

Marc Platt is known for producing the musical films “La La Land” and “Wicked.” Behind the camera, director Jon M. Chu is reportedly being considered to bring Britney Spears' life to life. The filmmaker had a hit with “Crazy Rich Asians” and also worked on the Ariana Grande film “Wicked.”
