Swedish blues-rock group Blues Pills unveils Birthday, a new song which allows them to announce their new album.

Blues Pills unveil their new single, titled “Birthday”. Discover his clip via the player below:

The song “BIRTHDAY” tells the story of an incident that occurred during a tour in Mexico during the birthday of Elin Larsson, singer of the group. She had invited the whole group and the technical team when a waiter decided to spoil the party. “I don’t know what this guy was thinking or doing, but he allowed himself to cross my personal boundaries in a very disrespectful way. »

She details the title text: “There’s a bit of humor there. The first verse of the song takes the point of view of the aggressor, but it is not a song in which I pose as the victim. It’s a way to turn shit around and a way to raise your middle finger with conviction. »

Birthday is also the title of Blues Pills’ next album, due out August 2. “With this album, we give free rein to our art, surpassing all boundaries and expectations, in order to write the music that pleases us” Blues Pills said in a statement. “We sought to capture the pure and authentic feeling of our live performances on album while pushing our limits to give the best of ourselves. Elin was pregnant while recording, what’s more rock ‘n’ roll than creating both life and music? »

This album arrives four years after Holy Moly, released in 2020. On this occasion, the editorial staff spoke with Elin Larsson.
