Music news

She will have been a source of inspiration for many in 2023. Today it’s Lisa from the girl band BLACKPINK who covers one of Britney Spears’ songs for the holidays “My Only Wish” in a very Parisian clip.

For K-pop fans, the year 2023 ends on a more than positive note since the members of the BLACKPINK group have some nice surprises in store for them. After having completed a huge world tour, marked by a visit to the Stade de France, and a headlining show at the Coachella festival, the four young women have exciting news for the year to come. And the first surprise is the unexpected cover published by Lisa. Indeed, on Christmas Day the group’s vocalist published a cover of the title “My Only Wish (This Year)” by the iconic Britney Spears, present on the compilation “Platinum Christmas” released in 2000.

An astonishing cover, especially since the singer of “MONEY” has accustomed us to his rapped verses and which poses here on an enchanting melody. Three days after its broadcast, the clip filmed in the streets of Paris managed to accumulate more than 5.2 million views on YouTube. And she is not the only member of the group to have taken part in the exercise since Jennie, who we could see in “The Idol”, also shared her cover of the title of “Snowman” by Sia, but Korean version. His video has more than 5.6 million views.

The latter also made headlines because she announced on Instagram the launch of her brand OA, or “Odd Atelier”. A ready-to-wear brand that the young businesswoman describes as “a space that aims to create new products that attract attention in a way different from what is usual or expected” and for which she wants her fans to “show a lot of love”.

Regarding the rest of the group, BLACKPINK performed in the Meta Quest this Tuesday, December 26 during “BLACKPINK: A VR” which turned out to be the final show of their “Born Pink Tour”.
