The series follows the (mis)adventures of a real/fake couple of secret agents who not only have to lie about their romantic situation but also have to carry out very high-risk missions. The series stars Donald Glover and Maya Erskine, two rising stars who have already made a name for themselves in previous roles. Here, they are in the spotlight in this new version of “Mr & Mrs Smith,” inspired more by the 90s series than the Hollywood blockbuster of the 2000s, although the latter will certainly come to mind first. However, the early reviews of the series are generally positive. It may not be the show of the year, but it is charming and enjoyable to watch, especially due to its characters and a romantic thread laced with humor that revolves around them and them alone.
