Asap Rocky confirms what we already knew about Rihanna’s new album

Music news

Last January 28th marked 8 years since Rihanna will release his latest studio album to date: Anti. Nobody in that year 2016 suspected that it would be one of the biggest musical breaks that we were going to experience in the pop industry by one of the biggest international stars. But fortunately every so often we receive a small dose of hope so that it will be this year (finally) that it sees the light.

And the person responsible for the new excitement for millions of fans of the Barbadian soloist has arrived from Asap Rocky in a phrase as innocent as it is sincere that confirms what we already knew about this new album: “He’s working on it.”

The truth is that the impact would have been total and more than one person would have given him something if he said otherwise. But the truth is that this “it’s working” goes back many years. Since 2019 we have been hearing that Rihanna He is in the recording studio preparing songs while juggling his schedule with his multiple lines of business.

The expectation for R9 continues to grow by leaps and bounds and each time the bar for the return of the one from Barbados is higher. She has taken it upon herself for years to take the edge off the issue by confirming that the music will come when it is ready and when she is satisfied with it.

Anti’s successor seems to be looming in 2024 but we have been like this for a few years now and Riri always plays in front of the different microphones that have been placed in front of her asking her about the long-awaited album (or double album as it was said).

We have lost count of the news that we have published, hopeful about information from around us, nearby leaks, rumors and statements… They all pointed to the end of 2021, mid-2022, his return in 2023… But nothing. And despite our hopes, it would be strange for Rihanna to release an album recorded years ago after her personal situation has changed so much in recent years.

We must remember that in 2023 we already had a partial return with a gigantic musical production for the Super Bowl break where she confirmed her second pregnancy and several songs that have been part of the Black Panther soundtrack.

Our faith remains intact and we dream that this year will be the final year in which Rihanna’s much-rumored double album sees the light. The one in which on the one hand she has poured all her musical and sound concerns and on the other she has exploited the most commercial version of her. A double project in which one part would be dedicated to the most mainstream music with which she would reconnect with success and sales charts and another album in which she would experiment with sounds such as reggae, electronica or hip-hop. hop.
