Joga Pra Lua is Anitta’s new hot single, a song created in collaboration with producers Pedro Sampaio and DENNIS.
In 2023 I really threw myself into the funk world. Ending the year with this song is very special for me,” says Anitta.
I’ve had this refrain stuck in my head for months… It’s delicious.
It’s so summery! I love it! Anyone who has seen Tiktok in The Mix knows what I’m talking about. It makes you want to start dancing immediately!”
The lyrics of “Joga Pra Lua”, entirely in Portuguese, take the listener into a warm and seductive atmosphere. While someone flirts in a funk dance, Anitta sings in the first verse:
From afar I spotted you / I was in tune / I stumbled / Wanting to kiss that mouth”.
I love collaborating with other artists. And I think it’s wonderful when this chemistry leads to one, two or more collaborations… ‘Joga Pra Lua’ celebrates my musical bond with these guys. We did other jobs together and it was incredible,” says Anitta.
THE SONG
“Joga Pra Lua” was written by Anitta, Pedro and DENNIS together with songwriters Gabriel Cantini (Kevinho’s collaborator) and Shylton Fernandes (Pabllo Vittar and Zé Felipe). Sonically, the song mixes Carioca funk with electronic music. This perfect combination was signed by Pedro Sampaio and DENNIS.
The song also samples “Uva”, a song composed by Fernando Os and performed by the Brazilian funk group Os Saradinhos.
Pedro Sampaio, who has already collaborated with Anitta on hits such as “No Chão Novinha” and “Dançarina Remix”, wants to remember this feeling, “working with Anitta and DENNIS is always a pleasure. They are artists I admire and draw a lot of inspiration from,” he says.
DENNIS is one of the producers of Anitta’s 2022 album “Versions of Me”. He also produced the recent single “MONSTRÃO”, released last month.
VIDEO
The official video for “Joga Pra Lua” will be released on Monday 18 December. The video is set against a background that refers to the lunar soil and has dance as its main element. For the occasion, Ohana Lefundes, one of Anitta’s stage dancers, interacts with the singer in a modern choreography full of sensuality.
I like the result. My dance with Ohana is beautiful, super artistic. I also had a lot of fun with Pedro eDENNIS on set!”.
Filmed in the beach town of Arraial do Cabo, Rio de Janeiro, the video was directed by Anitta herself, in collaboration with the creative team at GINGA Pictures, who have already collaborated with her on music videos such as “Funk Rave”, “Boys Don’t Cry” and “El Que Espera”.
