Álvaro Benito’s new group is called Chicle and it sounds very cool

Music news

Álvaro Benito can leave music and dedicate himself, as he already does, to being a sports commentator. But given what we have seen, the music will never come out of him. That is why, in addition to celebrating the 20th anniversary of Pignoise With the reissue of an album full of collaborations and two very special concerts, the singer has also become involved in another alternative project called Gum.

The band is made up of the vocalist (and guitarist) we just mentioned, Héctor Navío on bass and Juan Zurdo on percussion. A power trio that comes to make the walls rumble and stir the consciences of any self-respecting rock lover.

For now, andThe group has already published two singles. On the one hand, loser streets, which was released in November. It is a song that is a declaration of intentions, with its electric guitars and a chorus as catchy as the project. For another, My imagination released in mid-December, which consists of an exciting score.

Along with these two songs, the trio plans to share two more singles, Happiness and Solid. The four tracks will make up the EP Gum, a mini-album that comes like a breath of fresh air through its lyrics, while maintaining the best essence of the musical genre.

Among his greatest references and inspirations, we find names like Queens of the Stone Age, The Strokes, Muse, Biffy Clyro. All of them have contributed to giving the group a new, unique sound full of personality.

Álvaro Benito thus joins other artists who have formed other musical groups, such as Leiva and The Guapos; Bruno Mars and Silk Sonic; either Robbie Williams and Lufthaus.

Future live debut on the horizon

Álvaro, Héctor and Juan; i.e. Gum (so that you can ruminate and his name will come to mind), they already have the first date of their concert. It will be a live debut in Madrid, but not in any venue. The emblematic Sala El Sol will host, within the framework of the Bee Week Festival, the live presentation of their eponymous EP on March 15.
