We tend to think that the history of famous people, celebrities, VIPS, divas, stars or whatever you want to call them has been a bed of roses. And in the vast majority of cases the situation is quite the opposite. The last example has just been made known to us Alan Walker explaining how its origins were.
A message that highlights that the DJ has lived a story of improvement throughout his life. In fact, his message links directly to one of the most current topics of the moment: mental health. Because the disc jockey makes it very clear that you have to be true to yourself and that it is not bad to ask for help because #YouAreNotAlone.
“When I first started releasing music, I kept it mostly to myself. I found it intimidating to share my songs with others and was afraid I wouldn’t “fit in with the crowd” with my style of music. Mom and dad always taught me to be true to myself and follow my heart. Even if that meant going against the grain sometimes… Together with amazing people, I decided to write a song about this. About who I am and that #youarenotalone. Should I release it this week?” wrote Alan Walker along with several images in which we can see how he has grown from his earliest childhood, through his adolescence to becoming one of the most renowned DJs on the planet.
A path that in 2024 is on its way to completing its first decade. In fact, just a few weeks ago the artist himself remembered it on his networks: “These anniversaries bring back memories… Faded He is officially 8 years old (!!). The song that changed my life and made me Who I Am. 9 years ago I was an unsigned producer making music in my bedroom… 1 year later I signed with Sony and released a song that hit the top 10 in over 30 countries 😳 It’s crazy to be able to say this… but the journey barely it has just begun. And if you ever doubt your dreams, please don’t!”
After releasing Fire in the last days of 2023, we can only wait for Alan Walker to finally decide to publish this new song that will be a return to his origins because it is a song that talks about what the famous DJ’s beginnings were like.
A new sign that he does not stop creating and composing as he demonstrated with Better off (Alone Pt. III) the most recent version of one of the biggest hits in electronic music. Two and a half minutes of pure adrenaline that will surely awaken the most nostalgic memory among lovers of the genre: “At the beginning of this year, Vikkstar and I decided to get together in the studio and we started making a cover of the 90s hit Better off alone by Alice Deejays. I didn’t imagine what was going to happen when I released the song a few weeks ago,” the DJ explained at the time. A song that is not only a tribute and a remix of it but also has had the collaboration of the original producers: “In In recent weeks we have not only worked to give new life to this iconic melody but we had the opportunity to collaborate with the original producers of Better off alone: Seb and Eelkie, who are also the creative minds behind the Dash Berlin project. We were introduced to his new voice, Ryan, and together, we recorded the song, shot the video and had some of the best days of our lives planning and promoting it in Oslo.”
