After the exclusion of Tony Effe, Mahmood will not participate in the New Year's concert in Rome

As we know, Tony Effe was first invited to perform at the New Year's concert at the Circus Maximus in Rome and then kicked out for the lyrics of his songs deemed violent and sexist.

Several artists expressed their support for Tony Effe and this decision by the municipality of Rome, which was seen as censorship.

Mahmood, who was supposed to perform together with Tony Effe and Mara Sattei, and who now decides not to show up at the New Year's concert in Rome, is talking about censorship.

ā€œI waited until the last minute because I was hoping to read different news than Tony Effe's exclusion from the New Year's Eve in Rome. I believe it is a form of censorship which is why I also decide not to participate in the Capital's New Year's Eve. I firmly believe that any form of art can be discussed and criticized but there must be no censorshipā€.

With these words Mahmood makes it known that he will not be present in Rome on 31 December.
