AC/DC releases 9 limited edition gold-colored vinyl records for the 50th anniversary of its career

AC/DC celebrate 50 years of career! They performed for the first time on 31 December 1973 at Checkers Nightclub in Sydney, Australia. From there, in just a few years they conquered the entire continent and debuted on an international scale, becoming one of the most influential rock bands of all time, with over 200 million albums sold worldwide.

On March 15th Columbia Records/Legacy Recordings will reissue the band’s entire catalog on gold vinyl for the occasion. Each of these limited edition LPs will be accompanied by a different 12″x12″ print for each album featuring the new AC/DC 50 artwork, perfect for collecting and framing.

THE EXITS

The first 9 albums will be released on March 15: Back in Black, Highway to Hell, The Razors Edge, Powerage for Those About to Rock (We Salute you), High Voltage, Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, Who Made Who and Live.

BACK IN BLACK – is the best-selling album of all time for a band, containing the hits “Shook Me All Night Long”, “Shoot To Thrill” and “Back In Black”.

HIGHWAY TO HELL – released in 1980, it was AC/DC’s first album to conquer the American charts.

THE RAZORS EDGE – published in 1990, contains the hit “Thunderstruck” whose video has over 1 billion and 300 million views on YouTube alone.

POWERAGE – recorded in 1976, contains “Rock And Roll Damnation”, the first single that conquered the European charts.

FOR THOSE ABOUT TO ROCK (WE SALUTE YOU) – 1981, the album cover depicts a cannon from the 1800s, which has become an iconic symbol and also incorporated into the tour’s scenography.

HIGH VOLTAGE – 1975, represents the band’s international debut, it also contains some songs that had already been published in Australia.

DIRTY DEEDS DONE DIRT CHEAP – the album, released in 1976, arrived in America only 5 years later, reaching #3 on the Billboard chart and selling 6 million copies.

WHO MADE WHO – is the soundtrack to the 1986 film Brivido (Maximum Overdrive) written and directed by Stephen King.

LIVE – the 1991 live double album was recorded at concerts in Donnington Park & ​​Birmingham in the UK, Edmonton in Canada and Moscow.

THE TOUR

50 years later, AC/DC continues to perform live with great success. A series of dates in Europe are planned for the summer for the “POWER UP TOUR”, linked to the 2020 album of the same name. The only stop in Italy will be on May 25th at the RCF Arena in Reggio Emilia, pre-sales have been sold out in a few hours after opening!
